Purple Smelt Tandem

Purple Smelt Tandem

The original Purple Smelt was developed by Chet Dubriske in 1963.  He read an article in a Boston Newsapaper where the writer talked about the purplish color found in a dying smelt.  Over the years the feather color changed until in the early 1970's an orchid dye was used to get just the right touch. Today I blend Light Claret and Grey dye to get just the right shade.
